Town of Morinville is hiring a Supervisor, Legislative Services - closes August 3, 2026

Are you the kind of person who reads a legislative update and immediately wants to know what changed, why it matters, and what it means in practice? Do you enjoy making sense of complex requirements, spotting implications others may miss, and helping people navigate governance processes with confidence? Morinville is seeking a Supervisor, Legislative Services who brings strong municipal legislative expertise, sound judgment, political acumen, and a genuine curiosity about legislation — along with an enthusiasm for sharing that knowledge across the organization.

Reporting to the Manager, Communications & Legislative Services, you will lead Morinville’s Legislative Services function, serve as the municipality’s designated Legislative Officer and have one direct report. As a trusted advisor to Council, the Chief Administrative Officer, senior leadership, and Administration, you will provide authoritative guidance on legislative procedure, governance, statutory compliance, and Council decision-making while building organizational knowledge through practical tools, training, and support.

This is a broad and influential municipal leadership role overseeing Council and Committee processes, municipal elections and census, quasi-judicial boards, bylaw and corporate policy administration, and legislative compliance. This position is expected to strengthen governance practices across the municipality while helping to translate complex legislative requirements into practical processes that support sound decision-making and public trust.

If you are energized by the intersection of legislation, governance, people, and public service — and enjoy helping others understand not just what the rules require, but why they matter — this may be the opportunity for you.

Town of Diamond Valley is hiring a Legislative Services & Process Improvement Manager - closes July 24, 2026

Want long weekends every week and to escape processes stuck in the last century? The Town of Diamond Valley is looking for a Legislative Services & Process Improvement Manager who enjoys cutting through complexity, leaning out workflows across the organization, and putting AI and modern tools to practical use where they measurably save time and improve outcomes.

Anchored in Legislative Services, this role has a clear mandate to review and simplify processes organization-wide. Following our 2023 amalgamation, we’re building cleaner systems — and you’ll drive practical improvements that reduce administrative drag, speed up decision-making, and make Council and the broader organization more effective.

What you’ll do

Deliver core legislative services (agendas, minutes, bylaws, procedural advice) while actively improving how the work gets done.

Lead process reviews and lean initiatives that start in legislative services but extend across the organization — identifying waste, duplication, and friction, then implementing simpler, faster approaches.

Spot and apply AI, automation, and digital tools to reduce manual effort in records, bylaw work, meeting support, and other administrative areas.

Supervise one direct report and model a pragmatic, delivery-focused culture.

Work closely with the CAO, Director of Corporate Services, the Management Team, and Council on governance and cross-organizational improvement priorities.

Who we want

You have municipal legislative or governance experience plus a genuine appetite for process improvement and technology. You ask good questions, cut through noise, and deliver results. Strong knowledge of the MGA is essential; comfort with AI tools and lean thinking is a major advantage. We’re open to candidates from traditional municipal paths or those bringing fresh process/operations perspectives who can quickly get up to speed on the legislative side.

What we offer

True 4-day work week (Mon–Thu, 36.5 hours) — long weekends every week.

$106K–$116K (Manager 1 band) + strong benefits including 9.3% employer / 3% employee RRSP contribution.

Starting 4 weeks vacation + 3 weeks flex time for evening Council work.

High-impact role with real scope to shape systems in a growing, post-amalgamation community — visible results, direct access to CAO and Council, and a culture that values getting things done over bureaucracy.

If you’re a pragmatic “get it done” manager who wants to build simpler, smarter legislative services while driving broader organizational efficiency — and you like the idea of long weekends every week — we’d like to hear from you.

Send your resume and a short cover letter (tell us why this mix of legislative work + organization-wide process improvement excites you) to HR@diamondvalley.town. Posting closes July 24, 2026.
