AMCA Post Election Virtual Workshop

    -Zoom links will be email December 3, 2021 to registrants and guests.
    -Only one registration is required. You are not required to register for each session individually.

Congratulations on completing an election during a pandemic. While every election has its challenges, this year has shown just how resilient Returning Officers really are. The AMCA Executive is pleased to hold a Post Election Fall Workshop virtually for its members. This workshop will be split into two shorter sessions, rather than one full day. Details of each session can be found below:

Day 1: December 6, 2021
9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Municipal Affairs and Elections Alberta

  • This session will include discussion with Municipal Affairs and Elections Alberta on the recent municipal and senate/referendum elections. AMCA Membership will have the opportunity to ask questions regarding legislative and electoral processes. 
  • Due to a large number of attendees, we ask that questions be provided ahead of the session. All questions can be emailed to ryan.westerson@lethbridge.ca, no later than 12:00PM MST on November 26, 2021. This will assist the Executive in ensuring that all questions/topics can be included. 
  • Roundtable Q&A may be held at the end, dependent on time available.


Day 2: December 8, 2021
9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Returning Officers Knowledge Share

  • This session will include members from the Alberta Municipal Clerks Association, providing short presentations on lessons learned or projects they are proud of from the recent election. Topics can include, but are not limited to, Drive Thru Voting, Special Ballot Processes, Curbside Voting, COVID-19 Mitigation, etc. 
  • If you are interested in presenting during this session, please email cityclerk@lloydminster.ca no later than 12:00PM MST on November 26, 2021. Please include a brief description of the topic you wish to present on, and approximate time slot required. The Executive will do our best to try to accommodate all presentations. Please note some presenters may be asked to collaborate with other presenters if the same topics are proposed. 
  • Roundtable Q&A may be held at the end, dependent on time available. 

* Registration deadline is end of day December 2, 2021. Following close of registration, links will be emailed to those participating virtually on Friday, December 3.
