The Alberta Municipal Clerks Association welcomes all Alberta municipal employees who have the responsibilities of a municipal clerk, assistant municipal clerk, returning officer, or election officer.

We also offer an associate membership to municipal employees with similar responsibilities who reside outside of Alberta. Associates enjoy all the benefits of membership, but are unable to hold office or vote at the AGM.

Membership Types

Regular (Full) Membership

Full Membership in the Association is open to all Municipal Clerks, Assistant Municipal Clerks, Returning Officers and Election Officials working in Alberta government, and any other Alberta government employees with comparable responsibilities.

Associate Membership

Associate Membership is open to anyone with the responsibilities described on the left working for a government outside the Province of Alberta. Associate members will have the right to attend all meetings and functions of the Association but shall not hold office in the Association nor vote on matters brought before the Association.

AMCA Memberships

Please note that the AMCA membership belongs to the municipality who pays annually for the membership. If you take a new position with a different municipality, please contact us at for further details on how to obtain a new AMCA membership or arrange to transfer an existing membership from the new municipality.
